Zero Strategy Games Shuffle Dungeons is a fun game where you build a dungeon, bulk up your character and try to defeat the boss in order to win. It is a cooperative game with everyone starting at different places in the dungeon with the same goal. Eventually, all of the players will come together and, hopefully, be powerful enough to defeat the boss. The good:Setup is VERY fast and you can be playing within minutesGame length is relatively quick at about 60 minutesThe game isn't complex and is great for new or younger gamers to learn dungeon exploring gamesThere are optional rules at the back of the book to make the game more difficult for experienced gamersHigh quality componentsUnique mechanic that will allow dungeon rooms to turn into equipmentRelatively small box that is easy for transportThe bad:The cards are somewhat busy and, until you have played it a few times, can be confusing to rememberGameplay is not difficult so I won't go into too much detail (plus there are plenty of gameplay videos online that go into detail in less time); each player can take up to five of the six possible actions on their turn in any order. The only thing that can change that and end a turn is if you attack a monster which MUST be the last action. These actions can be ; move, draw, play cards, use a card power, trade cards with a player (must be in the same room as you) or fight a monster. You are trying to get equipment that will increase your stats so that, combined, your team can defeat the boss.We had a lot of fun playing Shuffle Dungeons. It offers a fun experience that has some meat to it for a lighter game, there is little downtime since there is a lot of player interaction and the double sided dungeon tiles really are a unique feature. At $40 I think it is well worth the price for a game that will get both seasoned and new players to the table.
